About Bottle Builders
Bottle Builders Ghana LTD. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing plastic pollution by cleaning the
environment and oceans and transforming this waste into valuable products. Post-consumer
plastics, mainly PET, are collected and either treated for further processing into high-
value applications such as fibers, packaging materials, and other recycled plastic products; or
directly crushed into flakes that can be blended with concrete.
These flakes are mixed with cement and aggregates at a specific proportion to produce durable bricks and pavement blocks that replace part of the traditional raw materials in construction.
We are actively working towards refining our formulations and production methods to
exceed standards, ensuring that our recycled-plastic building materials achieve
greater structural integrity compared to standard products.

Our Mission
By combining innovative plastic recycling with scientific impact evaluation, we provide a practical pathway for reducing waste while advancing circular economy solutions for sustainable construction. Additionally, we employ a digital collection scheduling system (GREENCO App) with a basic user-interface as part of our goal to simplify sustainable waste management for consumers and businesses across the globe.

Future Goals
Plastic based products such as fuel through plastic pyrolysis, plastic reinforced fabric, and 3D print filament, are markets we wish to enter in the long-term future.
Life-Cycle Assesment
We're developing a life cycle assessment (LCA) that measures the environmental impacts of our process compared with conventional concrete block production and the current disposal routes of plastics such as landfilling and incineration. The LCA captures the trade-offs in water and energy use, transportation, cement-related emissions, and the avoided burdens of diverting plastics from land and marine ecosystems.
